In the wake of a career as Creative Director at The Estée Lauder Companies, Meggi Partouche-Junier has turned entrepreneur with the launch of Skin Office. The premium-positioned French skincare brand is rolling out its debut eye-contour cream housed in a molded pulp clamshell secondary pack.

Entering the terrain of product creation was a natural move for beauty industry veteran Meggi Partouche-Junier. After some 20 years at Estée Lauder, notably as Creative Director at Clinique and Darphin, where she oversaw the brands’ creative identities from retail to product design, she decided to launch her own brand after a chance meeting with two French cosmetic surgeons in 2020. “I wanted to see how effective a skincare formula could actually be, so I challenged the R&D teams to see what could be done.” This resulted in 101 different formulas targeting dark circles, bags and wrinkles around the eyes: “I opted for the 99th version!” recalls Partouche-Junier. Eye Recipe is a unisex, fragrance-free formula geared to the eye-contour area, which she describes as “by far the most sensitive and also where the first signs of aging are visible”.

Molded pulp, a secondary pack solution

Eye Recipe’s primary packaging is comprised of a heavy-based glass bottle, Lumson’s Unique stock reference in 20ml. The removeable screw pump, chosen by the brand to facilitate recycling, delivers 0.1ml of formula, an “ideal dose for eye-contour products,” according to the brand. The top of the aluminum copper-colored cap is silkscreened with the brand logo, while the lettering on the glass flacon is also screen-printed.

Skin Office called on Knoll Packaging for its secondary pack: a bespoke molded pulp clamshell case color-matched to recall the bluish green bottle, itself a reference to the algae complex contained in the formula. The Knoll Ecoform pulp case is made of 60% FSC-certified bamboo and 40% bagasse, or sugar-cane residue. Three cavities were designed to house the bottle, a textured and rotating zamak massage tool (Ateliers AME) and a leaflet. “We worked with Alliance Étiquettes for the leaflet as they were the only supplier we came across that was able to finely emboss on 65g paper,” notes Partouche-Junier.

Following two years of development, Eye Recipe launched mid-June 2023 on the brand’s e-shop priced at €180 for 20ml.
